Whats not to like about backgammon? The game is great and I like being able to challenge players online. One of the downsides is the constant ad banners.
Easy to use and great way to play anytime. Dice throwing is quite surprising sometimes.
The pips are too small ,board is blah, the accept double button should be on the right.
Classic board, clean play, decent AI, and minimal advertising. Great backgammon app!
Ive tried pretty much all the backgammon apps out there and as far as online backgammon games, this is by far the best. Opponents cant quit on you without automatic penalties which is the best feature. All the rolls are true. No ridiculous numerous doubles coming up like in other apps. Time limits for slow opponents. And nice board. Tons of fresh new, different players all the time. They have s huge membership base it is obvious which is great. Never a problem finding a game. No chatting allowed which is nice and no way to contact your opponent which is great too so no one can harass you for the few angry players out there lol.
For the solo play, I have only noticed one issue. The rolls are not true. When you play in easy mode, the computer gets unusually bad rolls and plays really dumb and you get amazingly lucky rolls lol. If you play in the hard mode, the computer cheats and gets great rolls all the time, while you get terribly unlucky rolls after roll. So solo play is not so fun, but the online play is the BEST!
This is great if you need a game and no one else is around. You can really improve your game playing against AI.
Some bad moments
After playing 20+ games I noticed that during both online and offline gameplay there is a clear display of rigged dice. Often times you are about to win just as long as a certain combination isnt tossed by the opponent (Im not talking about him throwing a 3 when he needs it, but a combination of the two die, such as, him needing exactly a combination of a 5 and a 4 and getting it at the perfect time). While its statistically possible to get such a game altering combination when you need it most, if you play long enough you realize game-altering tosses are consistently placed throughout in this app. While this implies that these tosses can sometimes help you, and sometimes help your opponent (therefore allowing the argument that this would, in theory, imply that the app is fair to both players in its use of loaded dice), the use of dice rigging in this app removes a crucial and irreplaceable component of backgammon: pure chance.

I have been playing this version for months, and I have suspected that the players with scores in the 2000s are cheating. I had one move left on my last game and I was going to win when suddenly my dice rolled by themselves, none of my stones moved, and the other player won on his move. Huh? Ill find another version.
When play with the computer you can tell that the dice are not random.
As long as you cannot compete with someone for a preset number of games (5 games for instance, or 5 wines), the games dont make sense. Also, since the new update, the program constantly crashes when you are winning the game.
Ive never had such a consistent stretch of being out rolled by opponent. Ridiculous. Game after game after game.
